Exploring Wind Power: A Fun-Filled Workshop for Kids at Wetenschapdag 2024
At Wetenschapdag 2024, held at the Bibliotheek Zeeuws-Vlaanderen in Terneuzen, children aged 6 to 13 participated in an exciting series of workshops that brought the wonders of wind power to life.
The first part of the workshop introduced the young participants to the basics of wind energy. They learned how wind power can be harnessed to turn on lights in houses and power motors. The highlight of this session was a fun challenge where the kids had to generate enough wind speed to move robot dogs, sparking their curiosity and enthusiasm.
In the second part of the workshop, the children got hands-on experience by building their own wind-powered cars. Using various propellers, they experimented with designs and even had the chance to race hovercrafts within the library. This interactive and educational experience not only taught them about renewable energy but also encouraged teamwork and creativity.
Wetenschapdag 2024 was a fantastic opportunity for these young minds to explore the potential of wind power in a fun and engaging way. The event was a great success, leaving the children inspired and eager to learn more about the exciting world of technology and science.
